11.03.25 Only at our RV park!!!

I’ve been ordering items daily from Amazon or Walmart to complete the organization and decorating of our new RV home at Lakeside RV Park. Normally the packages are delivered to the office, we get a notice from the sender that they arrived, and we go to pick them up each day. That is until today!

While running some errands, we received five text messages that our five latest packages had arrived. We stopped by the office to pick them up.

Not one package was at the office, and the mystery of the missing packages began.

When we arrived at our home, we were exhausted. Kendal sat down to smoke a cigar, and I sat down at my rock painting table. Painting rocks is my happy time, and I needed it today.

If you’ve received deliveries from Walmart you know they take a picture of where it was delivered and send that picture to you.

When I checked out the picture of the first package, I realized it wasn’t delivered to the office but to an RV site, which never happens. Packages must be delivered to the office. The photo of the RV steps where the package was sitting was not our RV!!!

The majority of RVs would look similar if you’re only looking at a picture of the outside steps and a white background color of the RV wall next to the steps!

A couple of our friends, Donna and Toni (Toni is a new friend as of today!) stopped by in their golf cart. Since they work for the park, we told them about the mystery of our missing packages. They looked at the picture and offered right away to ride around looking for the door that matched the photo! And off they went!

Our neighbors, Rene and Ron, came outside about that time, and we started visiting. I showed her the photo, and they thought the same thing about it, looking like most RVs. We had a thought that since our Site number is 100, maybe it was delivered to Site 1, which has a Montana Fifth Wheel like ours. They decided quickly to jump on their bikes and ride down to Site 1 to see what they could find out! I just loved that but didn’t think quick enough to get a photo of them speeding off to the rescue!

We’re just sitting in our yard with four neighbors riding around looking for that package! Do we have the best neighbors and friends here!!!!

In a few short minutes, Donna and Toni come riding back with a stack of packages for us! They found the one original package from the picture at Site 1. The rest were just delivered to the office after we were there thirty minutes earlier! They passed by Ron and Rene and told them the mystery was solved and our packages were retrieved!

Thank you Donna, Toni, Ron and Rene for participating in our mystery event today!!

The title of this post is “Only at our RV Park…” because,

First, I did not know four of my neighbors in Amite by first names a month from moving in. We know several here already! And four were kind enough to come to our rescue and do some sleuthing on our behalf!

Next, our trash is picked up every day, and grass is cut and weeds are eaten every week, and not by us!

Finally, we’ve compiled a list of several things that need to be fixed or for which our knowledge needed to be increased about our RV. We’ve attempted to research and learn about all of the things on the list to take care of them ourselves. They all proved to be well above our pay grade, so the items remained on the list.

We’ve seen a white truck drive through the park from time to time with a sign on its door that says Cadin’s Quest Mobile RV Services. Lakeside’s maintenance guy here, Randy, knew who that man is and got his business card from the office so we could call him. We spoke to him on Friday, and this morning at 8am, Leslie was at our front door, coming to rescue us from our ignorance and need for repairs.

He was at our RV for 2 1/2 hours checking out each thing on the list. A few items were a problem only because we didn’t understand how they worked. Things in an RV operate quite differently from those in a house. The research we did on these things was not nearly as clear as Leslie explained them to us. He didn’t just explain things; he showed us everything we needed to see to understand it better.

When he left, everything except one item was fixed, or we understood them well enough for it not to be a problem anymore.

For the only item remaining, Leslie is doing some research to determine if our microwave/convection oven is dead and would have to be replaced, or if it can be fixed. I’ve found a new one in my research that is a microwave/convection/plus air fryer, so if it does have to be replaced, we’re set!

One man took care of things in eight different places in our home. That wouldn’t happen in our home in Amite or pretty much anyone’s home. And what he charged was much less than we feared it would be. Thank you, Leslie, for the relief you gave us today and for being so kind and helpful to us! We highly recommend him to anyone in need of RV services. His name is John Leslie Fletcher and his contact number is 225 432 9862.

So only in our RV park would all that happen and it happened on the same day!

We are so happy here, Buddy is so happy here, and now that our fix-it list is alm ost complete, we will all be living happily ever after in our new little home!

Life probably won’t be perfect but days like today tell us that we made the right decision to sell our house, sell most everything we have, buy this specific RV and move to this particular RV park.

God had his hand in every step of this process. We could see that every single day along the way. I thank him every morning for loving us, guiding us and caring for us like only He can!
