2025, Kendal and Rosalyn's Life

12.24.25 The day Santa came to our RV Park!

On Saturday, December 13th Lakeside RV Park held its Christmas Event for everyone here at the park. It included crafts, kid’s games, Christmas music, pictures with Santa and enjoying Christmas desserts together. There was also some delicious hot chocolate with peppermint and chocolate spoons to melt in it and lots of marshmallows to top it off! That was some special hot chocolate!

A while back the park’s general manager, Sue, asked if I would consider teaching kids how to paint rocks at the Christmas event. Well, yeah!!!! I’ve never taught kids how to paint rocks (other than my grandchildren) so I gave it some thought and came up with a game plan.

I painted all the rocks white on both sides. On one side Kendal and I painted light blue sky and green grass over the white. The kids would paint a Santa on one side as I show them how to. Then if time permitted, they could use paint markers to draw flowers, a sun, trees, birds and each one got a tiny wooden lady bug to glue on it.

A young couple, Sonny and Sara, joined us in the painting fun! I love getting to know other residents here and they were a really great couple to visit with.

One very special young lady, our neighbor’s granddaughter Raigen, was the first to paint her rock. She has quite a bit of artistic talent and even painted a reindeer on a rock!

I was so busy having fun with the kids that I didn’t take pictures of the other kids when they joined us. These are a couple of other rocks that the kids painted.

There were also pinecone birdfeeders for the kids to make. The kids (and adults!) really enjoyed making those.

And then Santa and Mrs Claus came to put big smiles on the kid’s faces. They were so good with the kids! Even some of us older kids took pictures with Santa!

The wonderful staff at the park did a great job with everything. I’ve gotten to know some of them and I can say they all work hard at everything they do for us here at Lakeside. Here’s a couple of pics of them.

This is most of the park’s staff. They made me an honorary employee for the event and gave me reindeer antlers like they wore. I even got to be in this group photo. That’s me in the back with Santa and Mrs. Claus. I turned my reindeer antlers in at the end of the night, but it was sure fun being a part of them, even if just for one evening!

I’m already looking forward to the Christmas event at Lakeside RV Park in 2026!!

Today is Christmas Eve. We will be spending the afternoon with my son Chad’s family opening presents, visiting and eating. In the evening, we will all be going to our church, Trinity Baptist, for its annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship Service.

Christmas Day we will spend with the McDaniel family eating, opening presents, visiting, enjoying the great grandbabies and just being together. That last is the best of all.

I’m sure lots of family photos will show up on here eventually! Keep an eye out for all that!

I hope that wherever you are, your Christmas will be filled with the love our God showed to us when sending His Son Jesus into this world to save us from our sins. Jesus’ birth is just the beginning!!!
