10.23.13 Hallelujah our time in Decatur may be over!!! Southern cooking Chauvin style!!

Hallelujah! We most probably will get to leave our spot in the Fleetwood parking lot tomorrow after 10 days here. This has been the least liked part of our RV life so far sitting in a gravel parking lot in the freezing cold with no place to go. I’m very thankful it is coming to an… Continue reading 10.23.13 Hallelujah our time in Decatur may be over!!! Last Monday we arrived at the Fleetwood Manufacturing Plant and were given the RV site #34 to park in. On Tuesday we took the fantabulous tour of the plant.  On Wednesday they called us in for our turn to be evaluated.  We did not have a scheduled appointment so we were considered a drop-in which meant our issues… Continue reading 10.19.13 Life in Decatur, Indiana

10.12.13 Amish folks, clocks and signs

Roy  and I went into the nearby city of Shipshawana yesterday in hopes of seeing some Amish.  Knowing that they do not like to be photographed I had to sneak photographs when I could.  Roy found a barber and got his hair cut while we were there but the barber wasn't Amish.  I got several pictures of Amish… Continue reading 10.12.13 Amish folks, clocks and signs

10.09.13 The Chauvin’s visit Chicago!

Roy still can’t stop talking about how great the Field of Dreams was.  It was every bit as perfect as I hope the pictures showed.  I’d give Tuesday morning’s adventure an A+++++.  Tuesday afternoon’s drive to Chicago got a much lower rating!  The traffic was horrible and hasn’t improved in our travels today(Wednesday).  The streets… Continue reading 10.09.13 The Chauvin’s visit Chicago!

10.08.13 Field of Dreams, Dyersville, Iowa

We made it to Lake Shore Resort in Oelwein, Iowa after feeling like we were going around in circles because of all the detours we had to take.  Our GPS didn't know about the detours so I had to get out twice and flag down a truck to get directions.  Sure glad that Iowans are nice folks. … Continue reading 10.08.13 Field of Dreams, Dyersville, Iowa

10.07.13 Winnebago Factory Tour – Forest City, Iowa

On Sunday we attended Worship Services at First Baptist Church in Forest City, Iowa.  Very friendly people  and what a blessing to be back in a Baptist church. Their Senior Pastor Eric Weaver preached a phenomenal sermon from Malachi.  He taught while he preached and it made everything much easer to understand.  I don't know how… Continue reading 10.07.13 Winnebago Factory Tour – Forest City, Iowa
