05.07.26 LeFevre Quartet Concert: A Night of Southern Gospel Joy

Thursday, April 23rd Kendal and I, along with everyone in attendance, were blessed to get to hear the LeFevre Quartet in concert at our church Trinity Baptist. The sanctuary was packed with mostly senior adults from our church and all around our area. This was the first time, that I know of, we’ve hosted a Southern Gospel Quartet. And I am so happy we did that!

This is the t-shirt I purchased. I rarely wear t-shirts, but this one might encourage someone to ask me about my Jesus so I bought it!

From the first note they sang my foot was tapping and my hands were clapping. Well not just me, but everyone else. Southern Gospel is not as popular as it was since newer Christian music styles but there are multitudes that still love it.

I don’ think I’ve ever enjoyed a group singing this much. God was all over that place. His presence was felt strongly.

Trinity had its own quartet known as the Wayfarers for many many years. Growing up in New Orleans I’d never heard Southern Gospel music. I’ll never forget that when the Wayfarers sang my heart smiled with every note they sang! I learned to love that music and was soooooo happy to hear it again this time with the LeFevre Quartet.

After the concert I went out front in the foyer to buy a “Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus” t-shirt. I told the quartet’s leader that they were the BOMB! In my admiration levels that is at the top!

The current members of the LeFevre Quartet include Mike LeFevre (Baritone), Jordan LeFevre (Lead), Daniel Ashmore (Bass), and Joshua Horrell (Tenor).

Several of the pictures and videos below were taken by someone else but a few were taken by me. We were on the third row which helped me get some good shots and good video recordings. Click on the first photo below and it will enlarge, then click the right arrow to see all the photos in the gallery one at a time.

These brief videos only show a tiny bit of the great music we heard!

This first video spotlights the deep deep bass voice of Daniel Ashmore

The Tenor, Joshua Horrell (in the video below) was really great to listen to. I love Bass and Tenor the best and seems Kendal does too.

I truly hope this is something we can do again at Trinity in the future. Wouldn’t it be cool if we sang some Southern Gospel music in our Worship Services from time to time?? Hint Hint!!

Ya’ll come back now, ya’ hear!?
